Design and Print, One Process
From his early days as a graphic design student, our founder had a defining experience during a visit to the Partagás tobacco factory. There, in his native Cuba, he witnessed the use of old, ingenious machines that felt as if they had been pulled straight from a Jules Verne novel. The process—and the results it produced—were deeply captivating.
At that young age, something clicked. Watching those presses at work sparked a lasting fascination with the craft of letterpress printing. What began as curiosity quickly grew into a genuine love for typography and the tactile nature of print.
Years later, that early inspiration gave rise to Cardstown. It became a small, personal design studio shaped by the belief that design and industry do not need clear boundaries. In Cardstown, those lines were intentionally blurred—and have remained so ever since.
